He is my Shepherd and My Rock

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
– Psalm 18:2 (NIV)

This explanation followed from The Daily Bible Verse...When we run into hardship, we need to go to God and not away from God. When we do, we find that God is a stabilizing factor that gets us through the pain and trials that we all face. When you are overwhelmed, do you run to your Bible to grab onto the promises of God? If not, you are missing one of the greatest ways that God has strengthened His people for generations.

This morning I woke up feeling refreshed. I had another sleepover with my son and got a great night's sleep. Just seeing Easton last night and him being his goofy self made me fall to sleep with an endless smile. Waking up to him and James leaving so Easton could spend a day with his babysitter and buddy Josiah and James could get to work was beautiful. Mornings here with my son mean I get the sweetest good morning mommy hug and Asher gets to feel the most innocent I love you Asher kiss as Easton kisses my belly. How could I not wake up feeling rested and full of joy?

I again started my morning reading my daily readings and daily Bible verse. I began this post with the verse of the day as it holds so true in our life here on Earth. God is my rock and strength. If I didn't have Him in my life, I would drown in not only the situation I am placed in now, but in so many rough roads I have traveled through in my life prior. I reflect back to those roads, and I can't help but smile because I only see the grace God gave me through each of those times, and how He has and continues to make me the strong woman I am. It is because I had Him and He is where my strength comes from.

I then want to just add that the daily reading was about God being our Shepherd. He wants to tend to us and be here with us throughout our whole life. He rejoices when we turn to Him and find him in even our darkest paths. Being our Shepherd is also saying He is our rock because He is always here to guide us and make us stronger. If we didn't face bumpy roads we wouldn't become any stronger in this life and our relationship with God wouldn't be as strong.

So, I just want to take a moment to thank you, God. Thank you for times where the path is a little more dark and rough. It makes me come closer to You and become stronger. Thank You for never leaving me and staying beside me in each fight as my Rock and Shepherd. You have and continue to shape me into the woman I have came to be and want to continue to become. No matter how bumpy the road, I know I will pull through because of Your great and endless love. Amen.

Thank you for still holding on with us, God, Josh, and all of the Angels and Saints through this fight for Asher. It is our strength, hope, faith united in this fight that is keeping Asher strong and making him stronger each day! All of you are making me stronger each day too. Let us keep God at the center of this fight and put our whole trust in Him because He is our rock and His ways are the most beautiful. He knows the greatest path for Asher, and that I trust with all my heart! I love all of you, and I love God truly above all things!
